A fine weekend of Food & Wine in Noosa
The countdown is on to Noosa Food & Wine 2016 and the team behind the event have been working hard behind the scenes to create an amazing event. We caught up with them to find out what we can expect from Noosa Food & Wine 2016 and what the vision is for the future.
Noosa Food & Wine 2016 is a new event for Noosa – can you share the highlights.
The event is a new event for Noosa and features over 40 events taking place throughout Noosa – from events on Noosa Main Beach, beside the Noosa River, on Sir Richard Branson’s Makepeace Island and in some of Noosa’s best restaurants.
What is the benefit of spreading the events throughout Noosa?
Visitors to the event have the opportunity of discovering more of the region with events taking place in Peregian Beach, Sunshine Beach, Noosa Junction, Hastings Street, Noosa Main Beach, Noosaville and Tewantin.
Noosa is home to a number of talented chefs, who will be involved in this years event?
Noosa is definitely home to some great chefs and we have many restaurants participating. These include:
Pitchfork, Thomas Corner Eatery, Season, Noosa Boat House, Wasabi, Sirocco, Ricky’s River Bar & Restaurant, Sails Noosa, Embassy XO,Arcuri, Noosa Waterfront, Rump House, Locale, Peppers Noosa, Rococo, Boardwalk Bistro on Hastings and Noosa Beach House.
Pete Evans is part of this year’s event, what is his involvement?
Pete will be doing a presentation on the Paleo Way at The J, we’ve all heard about Paleo and this is your chance to learn what it’s all about from someone very knowledgeable and passionate about this lifestyle. He will also be doing a dinner with Peter Kuruvita at the Sheraton Noosa Resort & Spa.
Given Noosa is a coastal destination, will there be any events held on Noosa Main Beach?
We will have some really fun events on Noosa Main Beach in our giant tipis bought to you by Asahi. Check out the website for a full list of events and sign up to our database to be notified when our Saturday night event is announced!
There is a lunch happening at Sir Richard Branson’s Makepeace Island. What will this event entail?
This is a seafood lunch designed by David Pugh, Massimo Mele and Peter Kuruvita. Guests will travel in style aboard the Catalina along the beautiful Noosa River, enjoy an exclusive tour of Sir Richard’s home and indulge in exquisite seafood stations and matching wines presented by Pizzini Wines. This event proved to be very popular and sold out within 24 hours!
